Atch Hold Please
"Atch hold please"
"Hold"
"This Bill"
Are you a trucking company? A freight broker? These are phrases that you've probably heard over and over again.
We make and receive hundreds of phone calls daily. Sometimes we'll hear the words "Atch hold please" Then you sit on hold for 9-10 minutes.
Sometimes we'll hear the word "Hold" and then that dreaded hold music... the one with the horns blaring... you know the song.
There's a lot of bad phone etiquette that takes place in our industry. To help combat the "Atch hold please", we've compiled a simple 3 step process to help your transportation company succeed at answering the phone.
1. Use a customary greeting: "Good morning" or "Good afternoon" or "Happy Holidays from"
2. Let the caller know who they are calling: "Thank you for calling West Central"
3. Give the caller your name: This could be the most important piece of all. "My name is Jeff"
Using these 3 tips can enhance the experience a caller will receive from your business on the the other end of the phone.
